About Ruth Ann Johnson

Ruth Ann Johnson is an award winning designer with more than nine years experience in design, branding and communications. She works closely with photographers, illustrators, copywriters and programmers to produce highly conceptual innovative work. She is involved in all stages of the project from concept to delivery. Ruth Ann provides a unique approach to each project and ensures complete execution of your communication and branding needs.

She received her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in graphic communications from the University of Houston, graduating Cum Laude in 2000. While in school, she began her career at the Hill Group as a web intern learning to hand code websites. After graduation she accepted a design position with Tribe Design where she worked with clients such as: Shell, St. Luke's Episcopal Hospital, Depco Power Systems, Preschool for All, The Houston Technology Center, Satellite Logistics Group and YMCA of Greater Houston. During this time she also volunteered on the board of AIGA Houston Chapter working as the Programming Director.

In 2004, she joined Savage where she quickly moved up the ranks, being promoted to Art Director in two short years. Here, her understanding of the business side grew along with her client experience. At Savage she worked with clients such as: Administaff, Alagasco, Burger King, Cheniere Energy, Consolidated Graphics, Cooper Industries, Devon Energy, DKRW Energy, El Paso Corporation, Energen Corporation, Murray Resources, Nabors Industries, Plains All American Pipeline, Pride International, Ronald McDonald House, Southern Union Company, Susan G. Komen for the Cure - Houston Affiliate, The Dinerstein Companies, The Park People and The University of St.Thomas. While at Savage, Ruth Ann was a grant recipient for the Sappi Ideas that Matter Grant. With this opportunity, she developed The Whole Truth guidebook for Adolescents in Recovery (AIR). This book has assisted AIR in their communication needs by educating the community about addiction.

In the spring of 2009, Ruth Ann founded RAJ Creative. Ruth Ann works on many successful projects; and clients never fail to be impressed by her capabilities and talent. She is very process and detail oriented. Ruth Ann continues to win awards both nationally and internationally in the most prestigious of design competitions. And, she continues to be published, most recently in HOW Magazine's International Design Annual 2009.
